SMS Termination Rates (E.212 -> E.164)

There are three types of GT in use in mobile networks known as E.164 (MSISDN), E.212(IMSI) and E.214(MGT):

Billing systems understand to charge according to E.164 format (CC+AC) but all SMS termination providers send you their updated lists in E.212 format (MCCMNC).

So to solve this problem you would assume that there is a list ready that you can use to map the E.164 and E.212 together. I thought so too but unfortunately there isn’t an accurate single list available on the net that would provide you that.

In order to unify the price list  for SMS and Voice in a single rate sheet format we need to map every E.212 (MCCMNC) to an E.164 Number Value (Prefix), which should look something like this.

Doing this task manually simply will take a very long time and will contain lots of human error.  To build the SMS Exchange we had to solve this big challenge in order to be able to accurately bill buyers for SMS messages sent to vendors based on the E.164 number format that the customers use when sending us messages over SMPP protocol.

We promised our selves to send the most recent E.164 + E.212 Mapping full list with every rate update so that you can maintain an updated and fresh destinations database table on your end that contains the two, or simply just use whichever column your billing system supports.

How to get the full list?

Getting the A-z list for with E.164 and E.212 mapped together is very easy. when you purchase an SMS route on TelecomsXChange, you will automatically receive the A-z list offered by the vendor (seller) with mapping (E.164 – E.212) included automatically.

As shown in the above list you will notice the E.164 number format (Prefix) column and the E.212  (MCCMNC) columns in the same sheet.

Please note that the official rates changes emails from TelecomsXChange will always from FROM: rates@telecomsxchange.com and they will be signed by maildelivery.telecomsxchange.com .
